Research

Formulate
Our expert historians begin by identifying how your research question related to the urban fabric of Queens and New York City. Our focus is to preserve and interpret your question through the region’s history via physical media and primary sources from our collection.

Research
We draw from over 50,000 newspapers, maps, documents, and artifacts, along with 150,000 photographs, all housed and preserved in our archive. Spanning more than 3,000 cubic feet, our collection enables in-depth research not possible elsewhere.

Deliver
We deliver research findings, drawn from the largest collection of maps, books, atlases, images, and newspapers on the Long Island City community. Our curated outputs help you translate historical insight into meaningful narratives, projects, or publications.
